AUSTIN, TX (DATE TK, 2022)The Texas Restaurant Foundation (TRF), the workforce development arm of the Texas Restaurant Association (TRA), cordially invites you to this year’s Lone Star Bash featuring the Texas Restaurant Awards, set for July 10, 2022 at Gilley’s Dallas. A highlight of the Texas Restaurant Show––the largest restaurant industry trade show and educational conference in the Southwest––this year’s Lone Star Bash will feature signature dishes and cocktails from more than 30 celebrated Texas chefs and 12 mixologists, each respectively competing for the title People’s Choice for Best Dish and Craft Cocktail, followed by a live performance by Red Dirt rocker Stoney LaRue, with proceeds benefiting the important work of the TRF, a 501(c)(3) non-profit.

Tickets to the 2022 Lone Star Bash are on sale now. Concert-only tickets go on sale Friday, April 22. Tickets and information are available HERE.

Stoney LaRue is a hard-charging, philosophical troubadour who has delivered his expansive take on Hill Country honky-tonk boogie for 20 years. A charismatic storyteller who draws from soul, folk, and rock-and-roll, LaRue is the perfect musical pairing to an evening celebrating food and culture that is rooted in—and reimagining—the very best Texan traditions.

Now in its seventh year, the Lone Star bash will be held July 10, 2022, at the one-and-only Gilley’s Dallas. For VIP All Access ticket holders, the big night begins at 5:30 p.m., with the Texas Restaurant Awards pre-event, celebrating industry leaders, including inductees to the Hall of Honor, Restaurateur of the Year, Educator of the Year, Philanthropist of the Year, and the 23 local TRA Chapter Restaurateur of the Year winners, as well as special award categories for Rising Star, Deep in the Heart, and Community Impact. The kick-off features full-service samples of all signature dishes and cocktails, VIP views of Stoney LaRue’s performance, and VIP-only access to the exclusive rooftop after party.

General access ticket holders will be welcomed at 6:30 p.m. to experience the food and drinks and special dessert stations, as well as sponsored attractions that include photos with a live longhorn and mechanical bull-riding for charity, before the performance. There are also concert-only access tickets, which include dessert and drinks, with doors opening at 8:00 p.m.

“This is always a night to remember,” said Dr. Emily Williams Knight, Ed.D., President & CEO of the TRA. “Not only will this year’s Lone Star Bash be bigger and better than ever—thanks to Stoney LaRue and our extraordinary chefs and mixologists—but it also will continue to provide critical support to the Texas Restaurant Foundation’s programs, including ProStart, our 2-year high school culinary and hospitality management program that is taught in nearly 200 school districts across Texas. It has been an extremely challenging few years, during which the people of this industry have shown incredible grit, creativity and tenacity. It’s wonderful to gather together now to celebrate our greatest while we invest in the next generation of our best and brightest. Get ready to party with a purpose, and we will see you at Gilley’s!”

The Shawnee Cave Amphitheater Announces Labor Day Weekend Music Event

The Shawnee Cave Amphitheater Announces Labor Day Weekend Music Event Cowboy Campout 2021

Shawnee Cave Amphitheater’s 3rd event announces with killer lineup

Hottest country music festival in the midwest!

Murphysboro, IL – Shawnee Cave Amphitheater is proud to announce a stellar country lineup for it’s Labor Day weekend event. The event will take place September 3-5th with music all three nights, for these family friendly shows. Shawnee Cave Cowboy Campout is bringing some of the best country bands back to beautiful Southern Illinois. This diverse line-up spread over three days is sure to leave you satisfied. The lineup includes The Steeldrivers, Stoney LaRue, Ward Davis, Ben Chapman, Sunny Sweeney, Ben Haggard, The Supersuckers, Alex Williams, Franklin County Trucking Company, and Murphy 500,

Friday night, we have Grammy Nominated Bluegrass legends The Steel Drivers, Rising Outlaw Country Star Alex Williams and local favorite Murphy 500 lead by Justin Easton. Saturday night powerhouse lineup won’t disappoint, with Texas outlaw country legend Stoney Larue, Ben Haggard (son of the legendary Merle Haggard but brilliantly making his own path), another Texas based favorite Sunny Sweeney and the up and coming Ben Chapman, who you do not want to miss. Sunday is stacked with the super talented outlaw country performer Ward Davis headlining. Ward has many song credits to his name with great artists such as Cody Jinks, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Bucky Covington and more, The LEGENDARY Supersuckers commonly known as the “greatest rock and roll band in the world” will also be on hand. This Arizona based band once described as the Bastard Son’s of Foghat, AC/DC and ZZ Top will keep your head nodding with their cow punk southern rock outlaw country sound. Rounding out the event on Sunday is the Trucker-Rock supergroup known as the Franklin County Trucking Company featuring drummer Taylor Sprehe, guitarist Skinny Jim Rotramel from the rockabilly band The Number 9 Blacktops, Eddie Spaghetti of the Supersuckers on bass (pulling double duty this weekend) and Vocalist Sean Hopkins of the Louisville based Americana band Dallas Alice.

Shawnee Cave Amphitheater has been brought back to life over this past Memorial Day weekend after being purchased by new owners nearly a decade ago. The vision for the property is a new experience based destination venue to drive tourism to Southern Illinois. The land surrounding the amphitheater borders up with The Shawnee National Forest. Located in the heart of wine country and Illinois BBQ capital, Murphysboro Illinois, the Shawnee Cave Amphitheater makes it easy to come for the music, and leave wanting to explore all that Southern Illinois has to offer. From hiking gems such as Little Grand Canyon or Inspiration Point, to rock climbing at Alto Pass, mountain biking at Touch of Nature or fishing at Cedar Lake the possibilities are endless.

The new owners of the venue have been hard at work to make this a new experience for event goers-

“We nearly tripled the size of the stage and poured concrete around it to provide an accessible venue for all guests. Other additions to the property include a Shakedown area for vendors and full service cash or credit purchase bar. Our ‘stay and play’ vision fits with the recreation opportunities in the area by providing true southern hospitality. Over the next year we hope to host experience based events, build our brand, and increase lodging accommodations.”

The event itself will take place over the three day holiday weekend. There are ticket options to fit everyone’s needs from single day general admission, to 3 day weekend VIP passes. VIP passes include many upgrades such as a closer viewing area for the audience, unlimited access to the main stage VIP lounge, and private VIP comfort stations. You can opt to camp on site or there are many options to camp nearby as well. The Cowboy Campout is a memorable and safe event to both visitors and locals. This is an intimate experience event with a limited capacity of 1500 guests. Folks of all ages are welcome and children 12 and under are free! Follow Shawnee Cave Amphitheater on socials to get the inside scoop on daily schedules to be announced soon.
